This summer I will be traveling with a group of 26 other college-aged students on a 70 day, 4000+ mile bike ride from Baltimore to Portland through the 4K for Cancer program of the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. I have been raising money for this trip since November through my fundraising page! You can visit it at: http://4kforcancer.org/profiles/ariana-staffen/
All of the money raised by my teammates and I will be used to it's fullest by the Ulman Cancer Fund for scholarships, patient services and support programs - some of which we'll get to do along our route to Portland! We will be doing some community service at hospitals and cancer centers including visiting with cancer patients and survivors, delivering chemo care bags, participate in community dinners, and hand delivering scholarships to young adults who have faced a cancer diagnosis. We'll also be doing just a little bit of biking…
I am so excited (and a little nervous) to start this trip! We head off from Baltimore the morning of June 1st and reach Portland the afternoon of August 9th. I'll try my best to keep everyone updated with lots of photos and stories on this blog :)
