Today was an 85 mile day and one of my favorites so far on the trip! We had open country roads and gorgeous views for the whole ride. My team: Katie, Brady, Aaron and I played hot seat for most of the ride and got to know eachother a little more. Hot seat is a favorite game on our team where you get to ask the person whose in the 'hot seat' any question you want. It's a great game to pass the time on the road and forget about how much your butt hurts (at least for a little) while riding.
Towards the end of the ride, my team and I found a public well on the side of the road and we got so excited to find some cold water. It was 90+ degrees that day so we went under the well and cooled ourselves off. Katie and I got to spend a lot of time talking on the ride today too. You'd think that after spending all day with my teammates that I'd get sick of them, but I really don't :). I find out more and more about them each day and we've become so close recently that it's hard to imagine us being apart after this trip is over!
Our host tonight was a dormitory at the University or Illinois, so we got real beds (YAY!) and laundry. We went out to dinner in the college town and got to see some of the campus. We are all exhausted and looking forward to some sleep. Back on the bike tomorrow to head into Bradley. I'm also going to add up out total mileage in a post soon..I'm pretty sure it is somewhere close to 1,000 (woah)!! P.S. I only have one picture from today since my
phone died on the ride. I'll be sure to take more tomorrow!
