Today I was put into a group with Chelsea, Jocelyn and Emily Lake and we had a fun 70 miles chatting and jamming out to music. The only things working against us were the headwinds and some awful chafing (most specifically Chelsea and I - worst chafers of the team right here!). Apparently some of the other team members had been joking that our group was going to be blown away by the headwinds because we are some of the smallest girls...but we powered through and finished! We rolled in last and were shuttled to showers by our awesome hosts. We also got to watch a little bit of the World Cup - unfortunately only to see the U.S. lose - but it was still nice to have a little TV time after many weeks without it! After we got all cleaned up we had dinner at our host with a few members of their congregation, and got to get to know them and share some laughs. Now that we are all the way in Nebraska it is really interesting to hear about how people live differently out here in the West! My teammates laughed at me when I asked one of the hosts if they had ever been to the ocean but I was seriously wondering - we just seem so far away from the coast! After dinner a large group of us headed to the local playground for some serious shenanigans. We goofed off there for atleast an hour before we realized it was past our bed time (how old are we again?). But we seriously had so much fun on the seesaws, swings, and that spinny thing that makes you feel like you're going to puke. Pictures from the one and only camera-man Brady to be uploaded soon. We headed off to bed soon after because we have...dun dun dun...our second century of the trip tomorrow! We are all excited but know tomorrow will be a loooong day so we are off to get some sleep. Katie's snapchat pictured below describes it all...
