Today we headed to off to our last host in Nebraska: Benkelman. We had a hot day, lots of rolling hills and some harsh heat. We were all a little confused because we had been told Nebraska was flat...let me tell ya, that is so not true! We had endless rolling hills...but the downhills were more or less just flats.
At one point in the day, we came upon a huge reservoir and considering the heat we knew we had to jump in so we took a break and jumped in in our biking shorts to cool off! But our break in the water soon turned into a mud war between two teams so we probably ended up exiting the reservoir dirtier than we came in.
That's the 4K for ya!
We also entered a new time zone today - Mountain time!! This means we are now officially two hours behind east coast time and one step closer to Portland. We rolled into our host around 5 PM, with time to shower and take a quick nap before dinner and our meeting that night. Tomorrow means a new state -
Colorado here we come!
