After a fun night out and a few extra hours of sleep, we slowly woke up and then a small group of us headed out to get brunch in the downtown area of Boulder. It was beautiful out and we were able to walk there from the church. We ate at this really cute restaurant called 'Snooze' and had a great brunch before we headed back to the church to get ready to head out to the service event. We had about a 30 minute drive to get to the Children's Hospital of Boulder. Once at the hospital, we separated into small groups and headed to different floors, guided by hospital volunteers, to visit the children staying there, chat with them, and tell them about our adventures from this summer! It was really great to get to talk with some of the kids and give them some smiles during their stays at the hospital.
After our service event, we headed back to the church and got ready to head to a local microbrewery for a happy hour organized for us by the employees of First Descents who we had just met back in Denver! Team San Francisco also came and we had a fun time hanging out and chatting with the employees as well as the other team members. As a 19 year old I sadly couldn't sample the beer…but my teammates said it was really good!
We headed back to downtown Boulder to grab dinner after the happy hour, then we headed out to this beautiful park/hiking area to watch the sun set. We only walked a small ways up the trail but still had a gorgeous view over all of the city on one side as well as the mountains on the other. Boulder has been absolutely gorgeous and I have heard that the trip only gets better from here. We'll be parting ways with Team San Fran tomorrow but get to ride with some of the alumni which will be lots of fun! Looking forward to seeing more and more of Colorado - this state is amazing!
